about

Calcite turns the tables on his usually comfortable style of reggae/rock to revisit the 2000s Pop/Rock era with his latest single ‘Lighthouse’. A deeply personal track about him discovering the news of his father’s terminal cancer diagnosis and the aftermath of dealing with this as a family and an individual. This definitely is Calcite’s best work to date and is a testament to his love for his father. Calcite states:
“My new single Lighthouse is a bit of a change of genre for me, after learning news about my father who has been given a time limit due to a large tumour, I felt the need to write a song to express my feelings on the situation. Knowing you’re going to lose a parent is something nobody can prepare for.”
The track starts with an anthemic chord progression and rollicking piano melodies before diving into distorted rock guitars and epic guitar solos. With understated production and vocals dripping with emotion, pain and sorrow the track takes us through a journey of love, loss and redemption. Don’t sleep on the latest release from Calcite.
