Calcite is set to release his second single of 2021 with Cavalry hitting all streaming platforms and stores on September 17, 2021. This introspective track helps to cement this Reggae and Surf Rock artist as one of the most exciting musical voices on the South Coast. Swirling synth samples start the track with a growling fender rhodes chord progression leading into a swinging reggae groove which juxtaposes the darker meaning behind the track. Kane’s rich tenor voice takes us on a journey of hope and despair ending with anthemic vocals rising in pitch to a final climactic resolution.

‘Cavalry’ was written about the concept of living with depression and struggling with the anxiety that has intensified during the lockdown. It speaks to the concept of learning to accept that love surrounds all of us and that we need to introspectively explore our own souls in order to love ourselves. It is about using your pain and life experience to better understand the trials and tribulations you are experiencing, and finding the strength to follow your dreams and better yourself. It references the people in our lives who have helped us through it all, including our partners and how we want to be their saviours through dark times. Calcite states:
